Early Morning Fall Colors with Some White
Fall camping is unpredictable in the northeastern US. The seasons are changing, and you get swings between summer temperatures that don’t quite want to leave yet, and the winter weather that really wants to take over the landscape. Although it’s starting to get cold this time of year, it is, and always has been, one of my favorite times to be outside. Changing leaves, and some of the most beautiful blue skies make for a colorful landscape. Cool temps create some early morning fog covering that creates a dreamy feel. And the wildlife is busy preparing for the winter, or migrating to warmer climates.
On our camping trip this weekend, it was cold. The weather forecast had predicted a chance of snow in the higher elevations, so I didn’t take my camera along. Besides some snow covering my tent in the morning, I was greeted with this view of the lake we camped by. Luckily, I at least had my phone, and I could capture this scene. This is why I love being outdoors this time of year, despite the cold temperatures.
